18th Brussels International Women’s Film Festival (Elles Tournent)

The 18th Brussels International Women’s Film Festival takes place from 13 to 21 October 2026 at UGC De Brouckère, Aventure, Galeries and CINEMATEK, bringing together films by women directors from around the world.

The festival opens with “Marie Madeleine” by Gessica Généus, during an evening co-hosted with FIFF Namur. The Closing Night will feature the Belgian premiere of “Ton Animal Maternel” by Valentina Maurel.

Highlights include “Ellas en la ciudad” with Instituto Cervantes, “Le Bambine” with the Italian Cultural Institute and “Orca” with Art Cantara. A screening of “Les Petites Victoires”, in collaboration with EQLA, will be accessible to blind and visually impaired audiences through audio description.

The programme also highlights international short films and the Graines de Cinéastes National Short Film Competition, showcasing emerging filmmakers in Belgium.

From 19 to 21 October at CINEMATEK, “Traces and Horizons” celebrates three major Latin American women directors: Matilde Landeta, Suzana Amaral and María Luisa Bemberg.
